Manatees are most commonly seen in Florida. However, they come through Broad Creek and other local waters and are occasionally seen by boaters in the summer. They are often seen drinking the fresh water from running hoses at our marinas. Their diet consists of vegetation on the sea floors. Manatees are also called "sea cows." These West Indian Manatees are Federally-endangered marine mammals.
